This reminds me of a poem written by the poet Hafiz:

    “Even after all this time,
the sun never says to the earth,
    “You owe me.”
Look what happens with a love like that.
    It lights the whole sky.”

I shared this on FB a few days ago, but it seems fitting here, too. I’m truly sorry about your friend. My prayers are with her family.

My beautiful daughter died July 31 2011
Its been 4 moths now and as a devoted Christian
I can’t but question God. Oh I feel so guilty for it but she was 21 and didn’t give me any sleepless nights. My other daughters 27 and 26. ( who live with their dad) are sensing resentment . I never talk down to them but my daygher who passed never cussed me or talked disrespectful. I try not compare .
Anyway. I read your note and I have so much peace. Even when we dedicated our baby to the Lord, it sounded good at the time but if I had my choice 21 years later I dint think I could hand her over if God asked me. Everything we have is from God even our children. Treasure all Gods gifts and be a good steward with everything we have!!!
